Klagenfurt, the city in the south of Austria, is easy to reach by car, rail or air. Trains take you safely and comfortably into our city; or come and go by car to the southernmost Austrian host city using the A2 and A10 motorways.
Shuttle busses will be running between stadium, main train station, city centre and fan zones. Public means of transport will take guests conveniently to the stadium or fan zones and the city centre.
In the city of Klagenfurt and the entire province of Carinthia, busses and trains will run between about 06:00 in the morning and 02:30 the following morning. After the matches on June 8, 12 and 16, there will also be additional trains to Vienna and Salzburg
If you use a bicycle in the Wörthersee region and the city of Klagenfurt, you will be flexible and quick. All important places, such as fan mile, stadium and main train station are easily reached by bike and will be equipped with additional parking facilities for bicycles. Experience the EURO on your own or a rental bike.

Klagenfurt is easy to reach by train. Austrian Railways offer favourably priced combination tickets for guests of EURO 08 (see tickets).
The main train station of Klagenfurt is also the most important hub of regional trains and busses.

From the main train station to the stadium

From the main train station to the fan zones/fan mile
Klagenfurt’s main train station is very centrally located. The old city centre and the fan zones at the Exhibition Grounds and Neuer Platz lie within walking distance.

From the main train station to the public viewing place at Europapark
Europapark is located on the shore of Lake Wörthersee and the public viewing area is easy to reach by shuttle bus or on foot..

From the airport to the stadium
Klagenfurt airport is located in the north of the city. Busses take you from the "Annabichl" stop to the city centre and to the main train station.
On the day of the match, the use of the train shuttle and shuttle busses is free for holders of EURO match tickets.

BY CAR

There will be much more traffic on the roads than usual during the EURO 2008. It will be impossible to avoid obstructions to traffic. Add to this that there is only limited parking space in the city centre. We recommend going to Klagenfurt by public transport.
Should you still decide to go to Klagenfurt by car, please observe the following:
Visitors staying in Klagenfurt or nearby
We recommend leaving your car at your accommodation on the day of the match, because road traffic in the city centre will be especially restricted on match days. There is no public parking in the city centre. In addition, the city centre will be closed to road traffic. There will be parking near the stadium.
Free use of public transport on the day of the match and the day after until 12:00 noon is included in the EURO match ticket (Combi ticket).
Holders of fan tickets, available for € 39.00 at tourist information points and most accommodation enterprises, can use all means of public transport (bus and train) within Carinthia between 06 and 19 June 2008. (For more information go to: http://www.kaerntner-linien.at/ ).
Going to the stadium - one-day visitors
There is a car park about 15 to 20 minutes on foot from the stadium. The car park can be reached via the Klagenfurt West motorway junction. The route to this car park is signposted from the motorway.
Note! On the day of the matches, this car park is reserved for stadium visitors only!
Going to the fan zones / fan mile - city centre - one-day visitors
There is a large car park for private cars for people going to the fan zones and fan mile. This car park can be reached via the "Klagenfurt Ost" motorway junction of A2 motorway. The route to this car park is signposted from the motorway. The distance between the car park and the city centre and/or fan zones can be covered on foot (takes about 30 minutes) or by shuttle bus (takes about 15 minutes).
Note: There is no public parking in the city centre. In addition, the city centre will be closed to road traffic.
