Piotr Trochowski (Born March 22, 1984 in Tczew, Poland) is a German footballer of Polish origin who is an attacking midfielder for Hamburger SV and Germany. He is known for his powerful shots.

Piotr Trochowski He played for the Germany Under-20 team at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship.

He started his career with St. Pauli, a regional team in Hamburg. He then transferred to the Amateur team of Bayern Munchen. However, he soon became frustrated because his capability was not acknowledged by the club. He moved back to Hamburg to play for the Hamburger Sport Verein (HSV). The manager, Thomas Doll, gave him a chance and Trochowski proved what he was worth. Within 2 seasons, he played himself into the Starting Line-up of the team, scored many goals and even reached the Uefa Champions League with HSV. His dream came true when he scored the winning goal, a breathtaking shot from 25 meters from a difficult angle, against his former team Bayern Munchen. One year after his move, the manager of the German National Team Joachim Löw invited him to play for the seniors. As Bayern wanted him back as a replacement for the departing Michael Ballack he instead renewed his contract with Hamburg.
